A note from the notebook

Stories first. Useful details, honestly shared.

A little context for the road.

Memories and planning are different things.

A personal story describes a moment in time. A researched idea is not the same as a place we have visited. Look for the visit date, information-check date, example labels, and the experience label beside a map pin.

Routes and practical notes are starting points, not guarantees. Check official information for current prices, opening times, access restrictions, and safety conditions.

Trip playback links stops schematically in editorial order. Its lines do not follow roads or imply a safe route, and its animation is not a travel-time estimate. Fictional demos are labelled and should not be used as checked travel advice.

Links that help support the journal.

Some product, accommodation, or experience links may earn a commission. Affiliate stories include a disclosure; affiliate links are labelled. A commission does not mean a provider suits every family, and prices or availability can change.

When a trip, stay, or product has been provided or sponsored, that relationship should be explained in the article. An affiliate label alone is not a sponsorship disclosure.

Maps, previews and external players.

Maps appear automatically when they come into view, contacting OpenStreetMap and sharing your IP address. Video preview images may contact YouTube or Vimeo unless we supply our own poster. The video player loads only after you press play. These services apply their own privacy policies. Directions and external signup links also take you to another service.

A kind conversation.
